Scouting started on August 1, 1907 on Brownsea Island as an experimental camp with Robert Baden Powell. Scouting in Canada started in 1908.

Scouting has been around since 1907 and we are now celebrating our 100th anniversary of scouting worldwide.  This will prove to be probably the biggest youth birthday party the world has seen.

With a motto of "One World - One Promise" brings together youth, adults worldwide from different countries, cultures, languages into one organization.

Brantford City has installed a flower bed in celebration of 100 years of Scouting.  A picture coming soon.

The 1st ever Centennial Cub Jamboree was held this year at Camp Everton, Ontario.  Brant Area had 3 local groups attend. 48th Brant (Cub-Lucas), 1st Burford (Leader-Sandi and Activity Leader-Lindsay) and 1st Paris (Leaders-Kathy, Jill, Terry and Offer of Service-Sheila and Cubs). Jamboree was from Sun. July 29-2007 to Sat. August 4, 2007. Participants enjoyed a very packed full program, great weather, excellent spirit, out trip, guest shows. Ceremonies included opening, sunrise, welcome beavers, closing.  There were participants from Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, USA, France, Poland, and England.

Brant Area had local groups attend the Canadian Jamboree at Tamaracouta in Quebec.  I will try to get updates & pictures from participants to post here.

2nd Trinity Scouting group hosted a sleepover on July 31 & sunrise ceremony on August 1, 2007 at Mohawk Chapel in Brantford, Ont.
